Fisherman’s Life

Fisherman’s Life… My 3rd quilt. Started Nov 2019 finished February 2020 for my husband. He helped pick out the fabrics and he helped with the layout and he chose no border. After some cutting errors and a GREAT quilt shop I was able to replace a mis-cut panel and get’er done. It is FMQ’ed in each block. He was very happy to finally get his Christmas Gift. 🙂

Black and White with One Color

This quilt was made about 10 years ago. I belonged to the Sagebrush Quilters Quilt Guild in Ely, NV. We had a challenge to make a black and white quilt with one other color.

Penney

The quilt is of my dog Penney. It is an adaption of a pattern I found in 2015.

When Snow is on the Posies

“When Snow is on the Posies, it’s Spring Under the Western Sky” was made in 2012 for a Nevada Quilt Guild (since defunct) challenge. Everyone received a fat quarter of the cream background flower fabric, with which to create an “Under a Western Sky” themed wall hanging. My inspiration stemmed from looking out my window on the first day of spring and seeing some lovely pink blossoms being pelleted with snow! The pattern is based on a quilt from Rebecca Wat’s book, “A Quick Twist on Fabric Folding.” One of my flowers has a honeybee peaking out of it, and I hand sewed over 50 tiny crystal beads from a broken necklace onto the quilted snowflakes and fabric flowers, depicting snow crystals. I have made many, many quilts since creating this one, but process, meaning and challenge of making this quilt always makes me smile.

Color study

I plan to bring a small epp wall hanging completed late last year. It’s a traditional hexi flower pattern appliqued to a black background. I started this wall hanging while waiting on my newborn nephew while he strengthened in the NICU. The tiny pieces fit perfectly in a repurposed altoids tin I use for travel sewing supplies. I keep it hanging above my desk at work and think of him daily. The picture I’ve included is a bit dated and I’ve since completed the hand quilting.

Dollhouse

I would like to bring two and you can choose which to use. The first is a wallhanging of a dollhouse I made as part of a challenge in 2011. The second is called Cosmos and was a Jinny Beyer BOM in 2016.
