Carol S Portman
Month 3, and again I can't stop at one. My rendition of Blair Stocker's wonderful book (where was it 15 years ago when I made 8 log cabin quilts out of old jeans and khakis?) is more realistic than this month's theme called for, but it's definitely on all fours with the quilt-themed prompt. I never thought I'd use parts of my felted sweaters stash in a quilt! The Girl Who Wrote in Silk isn't technically a quilting book, but it's wonderful, and all about the meaning and love in hand-crafting with fabric. I'm not thrilled with this block, but I stuck to my no-new-fabric vow, so this is as good as it gets. Maybe I'll embroider details later.
