The Rosie Project, cover design by W.H. Chong, is about two very different people (one very free-wheeling and the other possibly with Aspergers) finding a way to accept each other and be together. I think the fabric really did the work for me here. Hag-seed, cover art by Vladimir Zimakovis, is Margaret Atwood’s version of Shakespeare’s The Tempest, which is mostly based on an island. I read this book , partly to my family, on an island beach (hence the seagulls). We had to laugh out loud when the prisoners were only allowed to swear using Shakespearean words, which they and we really enjoyed :-). My block should represent the prison stage and started out as a courthouse steps, but wanted to be simpler. I’m happy to have a reminder of this great book and the time spent with my family.
