Overview

About this Workshop

Travel virtually to Hawaii and discover the artistic traditions that make the islands’ quilting heritage so distinctive. Through two hands-on projects, you’ll explore Hawaiian appliqué techniques and learn about kapa cloth, an important cultural textile tradition. With visits to the Iolani Palace and Museum of Art in Honolulu, local quilting groups and the well-known Poakalani quilters plus explorations of Hawaii’s diverse landscapes and history, you’ll have the chance to create meaningful work that reflects both the beauty and spirit of the islands.
