Month 2 - Nonfiction Book - focus on one design element. I chose Ross Gay's Book of Delights. I chose one of the plant leaves as the focus element, because it looks like a person! I loved using the curved piecing from the workshop - very freeing and created 2 mirror image blocks. On one block I fused the person-leaf to the curve, and the other I created an adaptation of the cover plant. I used black bias tape to create the stems. These seemed very Matisse cut-out like. I am enjoying stretching myself, inspired by Margaret's minimal abstract examples!
