This is my second quilt-related book for month 3... this one a novel that has a quilt in it. The main character in The Seed Keeper by Diane Wilson remembers her mother as she "traces the tiny stitches of my star quilt ...its brilliant shades of red and yellow now faded." As I reside on the traditional homelands of the Dakota people, I wanted to honor this beautiful, haunting book with a star quilt. I used foundation paper piecing to create the star and chose the blue of the book cover for my background.
