“Your drawing would look awesome on a notebook.” Even though he had been told that he shouldn’t pursue art as a career, it only took encouragement from one person for Denik Founder, Tyler, to build a brand around creative, cause-based notebooks. Tyler, and his cofounder, Jake, gathered a team of artists and started designing and binding notebooks. And with each item sold, a portion of the proceeds was set aside to fund the building of a school in Mali, Africa. His vision has blossomed from a grassroots street team of book-slingers to a community of artists and creative professionals.
