The completed bag is 10” wide at the base, 11” high, and 4-1/2” deep and features an exterior accent, magnetic snap closure, interior slip pocket, interior zipper pocket, and adjustable crossbody strap.

Quiltfolk has partnered with the Sallie Tomato team to create a Holly Hobo Bag Kit that is tailored specifically to our readers. We’ve included all of the special hardware and cork fabric you’ll need to finish the project, but we have intentionally left choosing the main fabric up to you!

As you can see in the two samples we’ve made, you use fabrics from your stash (perhaps something that’s personal to you) to complete the top portion of the bag and make it your own. In our examples, Kennette has made a beautiful Log Cabin-inspired design. In the second version, Quiltfolk Founder Mike McCormick’s mother-in-law picked a sentimental polka dot fabric that she had previously used to make a bag for her daughter (Mike’s wife) in college. 

No matter which focal fabric you choose, the finished product is a fun project that will be used time and again — dress up your wardrobe with a customized handbag or create personalized bags for family and friends!
