Quiltfolk Dogs is a Quiltfolk special edition that we published in partnership with author and quilter Teresa Duryea Wong. It is 96 pages, includes a foreword by Victoria Findlay Wolfe, and reads more like a quilt exhibition in print—meaning it contains fewer words and features MORE quilts than a traditional issue of Quiltfolk, giving readers the opportunity to view a collection of carefully curated quilts that are sure to excite dog lovers everywhere.
For this special edition, we asked our readers to submit their favorite quilts featuring dogs as well as photos of dogs with quilts. And the response was amazing! We received 258 entries, and even though it was so fun to review all the submissions, it was really tough to narrow the final selections down to just 44. But we did, and we can’t wait to share this special edition with our readers!
About Teresa Duryea Wong
When she was a little kid, her Grandmother Frances used to say, “If you wanna know what’s going on, send Teresa a letter.” She was the letter writer for her whole family. She loves to write, and she has been at it her whole life. Ten years ago, she left her corporate job and chose to start writing about her passion: quilting! Six books and a whole bunch of magazine articles later, she is still writing about quilts. Her greatest joy is bringing quilt history to life through her lectures to guilds all over the U.S. and Canada.
She is a member of the International Advisory Board of the International Quilt Museum, and in 2021, she was named the scholar in residence for Visions Museum of Textile Art in San Diego. She is also a quiltmaker and antique quilt collector. And three times a day, she walks her dog, Tom. Learn more at: https://TeresaDuryeaWong.com
