These designs are taken from a set of circa 1900 blocks rescued from a Victorian sewing basket. The center block can commemorate a meaningful event such as a birth, marriage, or anniversary. Quilt measures 42 1/2" x 42 1/2".
Rosie first learned to appreciate redwork from her mother-in-law Kathleen McCrady, one of Texas’ most treasured quilters and historians. When Kathleen wasn’t teaching or lecturing, she turned to Rosie to help her quilt. In order to have enough redwork illustrations, she’d ask Rosie to do the prep work and transfer patterns to cloth for her to stitch. As a result, Rosie created so many redwork patterns that she eventually turned this task into a proper business: Redwork plus™/Scarlet Today™. Her goal is to easily pass on the tradition of redwork to others.
