Join our live (virtual) two-day workshop exploring the rarely seen home and studio of world-renowned artist and textile designer Kaffe Fassett — and learn how to make Jenni Smith’s Ribbon quilt.
Your host Jenni Smith will share her personal tour of Kaffe’s “laboratory of color,” giving you a glimpse into his treasured collection of antique quilts, the studio where he creates his fabric designs, and the many vibrant rooms that make up this London jewel.
Then, from Jenni’s studio in Yorkshire, she’ll teach you how to make her unique Ribbon quilt, which was designed during her visit with Kaffe and celebrates a few of his favorite things — the Tumbling block, stripes, and flowers.
The two-day event will conclude with a live Q&A session with Kaffe and partner Brandon Mably, who will both be joining in the fun and sipping tea with Jenni and Kay.
This collaboration is brimming with color, energy, and in-depth conversations. Plus, it’s the perfect way to begin (and brighten) a new year!

Day 2: Saturday, January 15, from 10 a.m. – 1:00 p.m. PST

What You’ll Learn: Both Kaffe and Jenni will share their experience behind using color in quilts to give them personality and flair. The Ribbon quilt has been designed by Jenni to build confidence in choosing color and tone combinations and includes how to construct a Tumbling block without Y-seams (made up of diamonds and triangles) and machine appliqué. This is a playful project with plenty of room for amazing creativity.
Experience Level: This workshop is open to all experience levels.
What You’ll Need: Once you register for the workshop, you’ll receive an email with a kit list.
Money-Back Guarantee: If you are not satisfied with the workshop when you are through, we will refund your total amount, no questions asked.
