For this special edition, we asked our readers to submit their favorite quilts featuring cats as well as photos of cats with quilts. And the response was amazing! We received over 600 entries, and even though it was so fun to review all the submissions, it was really tough to narrow down the final selections. But we did, and we can’t wait to share this special edition with our readers!

Denyse Schmidt is a designer, maker, and teacher whose work celebrates the beauty, history, and community of quilting. Although, it’s possible her two cats, Eliot and George, might be the real geniuses behind her work—or at least, they think so.
Pamela Jane Morgan
Between her cat-inspired pattern book, Purr-fect Patchwork, and her popular fabric collection, “Kitty Litter,” it’s safe to say Pamela Jane Morgan thrives in the middle of the Venn diagram where cat lovers meet quilters. Meet her three feline muses, and learn more about Pamela’s swerving path to quilting.
Camille Roskelley
In July 2024, Camille Roskelley let the cat out of the bag: Georgie, a gray and white kitten, had become a “foster fail” after her family fell deeply in love with the cuddly boy. Now in his furever home, Georgie joined brown tabby cats Cosmo and Stitch. Camille, a quilter who owns a pattern and fabric design company, Thimble Blossoms, continues to foster kittens—something she started doing after being inspired by the foster family from whom she adopted Cosmo. Las Vegas, Nevada, where Camille lives, can be a tough place for a feral cat, and she uses her company’s Instagram account to advocate for fostering, as well as spaying and neutering animals.
Daria Nesterovich Anderson
Phineas, an orange tabby who has cerebellar hypoplasia or “wobbly cat syndrome,” is an internet celebrity whose videos have been viewed by millions. Phin’s humans, Daria Anderson and Collin Anderson, run Orange Is the New Black and Tan: an Instagram account that they use not only to feature videos of Phin and his three feline siblings—Tyrion, Maurice, and Sebastian—but also to raise awareness about wobbly cat syndrome and advocate for animal rescues. Maurice and Sebastian are also wobbly, and the syndrome, while incurable, does not cause the cats any pain. Sharing a home with four adorable kitties keeps the couple, who lives in Sydney, Australia, on their toes, and naturally, quilting around the curious bunch can be quite the adventure.
