1930's Lone Star block using authentic feed sack fabric and Bella 1930's reproduction Solids for accent. Happy with the result.
My progress block focused on changes in fabric fibers from 1930's to 2020's. The most significant change was the introduction of synthetic fibers. I made a block that included samples of the natural fibers used for thousands of years up until the early 20th century (linen, wool, cotton, and silk). Blocks of synthetic blends were also included in the block. I used a crazy quilt style with embellishments. I learned a great deal about the evolution of fabric fibers and was pleased with the layout, colors and trim used in the block.
