My Grandfather purchased a farm in SW Kansas in 1928. He had a couple of good harvests before the drought hit and eventually he and my Grandma had to temporarily abandon their farm to work in a laundry in Springfield, CO for $1 a day simply to survive. I used stash fabrics and tried to find things that reminded me of calico, denim, dust and perseverance. The farm is still going strong today. This was a challenge!
