At Quiltfolk, we’re always researching for our upcoming releases—but many of our favorite stories come from you! Word of mouth from our readers and community often leads us to the most inspiring quilters, places, and projects across the country. We’d love your help discovering new stories to share.

What Kind of Recommendations Can You Submit?

Individuals
Tell us about quilters who represent the spirit of your state or region—people whose creativity, craftsmanship, or personal stories stand out. You can recommend makers, designers, or collectors with unique perspectives or inspiring journeys. And don’t be shy—self-nominations are absolutely welcome!

Guilds & Groups
We’re always eager to learn about guilds of any size, as well as informal circles of friends who gather to quilt together. Collaborative or charitable projects are also wonderful to highlight, especially those that bring people together for a shared purpose.

Shops & Museums
From small-town quilt shops to museums with textile collections or special exhibits, we’re interested in spaces that help preserve, celebrate, and share quilting with their communities.

Events & Projects
If there’s an annual quilt show, fundraiser, or themed exhibition in your area—or a community quilt, charity effort, or creative collaboration—tell us about it! We love stories that showcase the many ways quilting brings people together.

Historical
We also welcome stories from the past, including influential quilters, groups, or events that shaped your area’s quilting heritage. Local traditions, regional patterns, and milestones in quilting history are all worth remembering.

Quilt-Adjacent Stories
Finally, we’re always inspired by stories that live just outside the seams of traditional quilting. Think barn quilt trail organizers, mural artists, sewing machine repair experts, or creative organizations focused on reuse, repair, or storytelling. If it connects to the spirit of quilting, we want to hear about it!
