The vintage top (ca. 1920-40) that inspired this quilt called out for cozy: the yarn-dyed woven backing and big-stitch quilting keep Jacob super soft. Quiltfolk Foundry pattern writer Deb Finan has created easy-to-follow instructions and clear diagrams so that whether you’re a beginner quiltmaker or one with more experience, there’s something for you in every Foundry pattern.
About the Foundry
“Tell the stories behind the stitches.” Since 2016, this simple idea has been the heartbeat of Quiltfolk. And the establishment of the Quiltfolk Foundry in 2022 has allowed us the opportunity to continue telling the stories of quilts that have gotten lost along the way.
The Quiltfolk Foundry, led by its creative director Mary Fons, is where lost quilt tops and blocks are found, then finished by a trusted circle of talented home sewists and quilters who turn the lost materials into beautiful quilts offered for sale in our shop.
We hope you enjoy our line of patterns, inspired by Foundry quilts that are ready for the next chapter in their story. To read more about how this idea originated, check out this post in the Quiltfolk Journal.
