Frank’s origin story is unlike any other, which is fitting since Frank the quilt is unlike any we’ve offered so far.
Most of the tops and blocks we source come from trusted sources we know personally, but every once in a while, we find a gem online—and Frank was clearly a gem. When it arrived at the Foundry office, we were shocked to see that it came all the way from … India?? It was true. And the name of the maker was included, along with her picture.
Wherever you are Patel Shibhnaben Kantibhai, we salute you. Frank is absolutely irresistible. Each of those funny characters you created are bursting with personality. We hope you had as much fun making it as we’ve had looking at your wonderful work.

We hope you’ll see them as we do, just another part of the story.
