ABOUT 06 | PACIFIC NORTHWEST

The sixth and final art print in the Quilted American Landscapes collection highlights the northwestern-most corner of the contiguous United States: the Olympic Peninsula and Puget Sound region of Washington State.

It is here that the dense, mountainous forests of Sitka Spruce, Western Hemlock and Coastal Douglas-fir yield to an unrelenting and unpredictable sea. The resulting coastline is as rough as it is beautiful, with protruding sea stacks and other rock formations providing one of the world’s most dramatic sunset silhouettes. A series of historic lighthouses guide would-be seafarers through the area’s unforgiving passages, but there are others who pass through: west of the San Juan Islands, from late spring through autumn, small pods of killer whales, better known as blackfish or orcas, can be seen making their way between Alaska and California.

Artist Garth Glazier has captured this spirit of this magical place with complex, colorful, and precise geometric quilt motifs which are woven into the landscape with his signature, quilt-inspired style.

Artwork is offset-printed on premium 120-pound paper with a matte finish. Size is 18 by 24 inches. Prints come unframed with a 1-inch white border to allow for gallery-style framing. Each print is hand-numbered and signed in pencil by artist Garth Glazier.
