If you’ve ever come across a stack of almost-perfect, well-made “orphan blocks,” you naturally wonder why their maker didn’t see the project through to the end. And in the case of Anna, that maker was so close! Aside from a section of embroidery missing in the “December” block—to be fair, she probably got busy with the holidays!—these pictorial blocks featuring the months of the year were complete. They were also completely adorable.

Each block features embroidery; some feature appliqué; and a few textural elements appear as well (e.g., the bunny in April’s block has a fuzzy cotton tail!) The dimensions of Anna make her a quilt fit for the wall—just like a calendar, but way more fun.
