We are so thrilled to bring you our second virtual workshop! Join Jenni Smith, author of Quilting with Liberty Fabrics, in making two lightweight, transportable projects from her book. Similar to our recent Manx Log Cabin Workshop, these projects can be completed entirely by hand and are perfect scrap busters. 

What: Join our live (virtual), three-hour workshop teaching two very different, but equally satisfying, techniques: 

• Miniature Eclectic Quilt
  • First, we will be making a miniature version of Jenni’s Eclectic quilt. If you have often wondered how to use up those small pieces of batting trimmed off the edges of your quilt, Jenni’s uniquely designed method is the answer. The quilt itself is a reversible, portable project that you can complete by hand (or machine). She chose fabrics with meaningful backstories and will encourage you to incorporate some storytelling into your work as well!
• Meadow Needle-turn Appliqué Pincushion
  • Second, we will make a pincushion based on Jenni’s Meadow quilt by practicing the needle-turn appliqué technique. (A single flower template from the Meadow quilt will be provided for the workshop.) Jenni will share how using freezer paper and other tools provides an accurate and neat finish, which truly transformed her approach to this particular technique. Whether the thought of needle-turn appliqué makes you excited or hesitant, you won’t want to miss learning her proven tricks!

When: Thursday, July 22, from 11 a.m. - 2 p.m. PDT. (A recording will be available to all who register. So if you can’t make the live event, or you want to revisit the workshop as you complete your projects, you will have access to the recording for three months after the workshop takes place.)

Where: It is a virtual workshop — no camera required — so find a comfortable location and connect via Zoom!

Experience Level: Both projects are suitable for beginners. Basic hand-sewing experience is useful but not essential.
