A great quilt can feel like a good friend—and that’s what Elaine is giving. Measuring 90 x 104 inches, this traditional quilt, in the (unfortunately named but still super pretty) Hearts & Gizzards pattern, was remarkably well executed by the maker of the original top, both in terms of the blocks and the full construction. Elaine features a blend of hand and machine piecing. And the alternating pattern, almost an optical illusion, is softened by the pinky-peach and creamy-white fabric choices. Elaine is a friend, indeed.Â
Elaine is backed and bound in Kona Eggshell. The Bubble Vine Meander pattern was longarm quilted by Kennette Blotzer of Tall Trees Quilting and adds a playful, airy feel to the quilt.

We seek out lost tops and blocks that are in good condition, but due to the source material’s age and care history, some imperfections in the finished quilts may be present. We hope you’ll see them as we do, just another part of the story.
